For Halloween this year, I decided to do a cosplay from one of my newly joined fandoms. That fandom would be Supernatural. This has become one of my favourite shows and I felt a need to play tribute to it this Halloween. My cosplay is a rather interesting one. I am a human version of the Winchester brothers’ car the Impala. Their 1967 Chevy Impala is not like other cars and has many details that allow for their demon hunting, monster stabbing, angel ganking antics. So without further ado, here is my human!impala cosplay that I made. (my apologies for the horrible quality of photos)me impalame impala cosplayimpala cos detailback impala cosplay

It is now time to show all of you a bit of my third experience attending Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013 Collections. This season I attended the runway shows for Mara Hoffman, Rafael Cennamo, Ruffian, Jill Stuart and Lacoste. The first four shows I managed to get standing room tickets for and then had a place to sit at a few. For the Lacoste show, my father’s friend Scott from White Hot Image got us tickets. Overall it was the best fashion week I’ve had thus far!

Happy new year everyone! This new year’s eve was pretty fun. I spent the time with my best friend and another friend. We played games and it was great. That night we stayed up really late. A lot of that time we fawned over my Alexander McQueen, savage beauty book that I got for the holidays. I don’t know if you dress up for New Years Eve, but I do. So of course I had a great outfit for the special night. Without further adieu, here it is.

dsc_0942

I wore a wonderful silver dress. The top of it is almost like a silver sari or brocade fabric with ribbing. The back is lace up and really cool. With it I wore a capelet and muff that I’ve had for as long as I can remember, and a pair of silver shoes.

dsc_0947

dsc_0939

Here is the back.

dsc_0930

dsc_0951

I decided to do really dramatic makeup with it, because when else can I other than big parties.

dsc_0969

Be hypnotized by my shiny eyes.

dsc_0972

dsc_0929

And then here is my hair. It took me forever to curl and didn’t even hold real curls for all that long. but it looked nice while it lasted.

dsc_0959

I hid tiny crystal bobby pins in it to give some extra fanciness.

dsc_0964

dsc_0957

For my nails I wore a dark blue base with silver french tips, to match the rest of my outfit.

dsc_0954

I hope that all of you had a wonderful New Year’s. And I wish you all a prosperous and joyfilled 2013.

Just in case you are totally perplexed by this title, It is me trying to be creative and failing… epicly. But today you will see what I wore for Thanksgiving and if you could not tell it is a vintage 60’s outfit. You have actually seen part of this outfit before, but this is when I actually wore it.

dsc_0001

To go along with the 60’s outfit I decided to sport some 60’s inspired hair and makeup. It took a long time to do, I don’t know how they did this just about every day back then. I wore the cat eye liner, super defined crease and subdued nude lips with pride. Everyone at the party I went to thought it was great and I was and still am quite happy with what I did.

dsc_0015

And here is the back of my semi updo semi beehive. I have no idea what else to call it.

dsc_0016

In case you are wondering this dress and jacket were made in the British crown colony of Hong Kong, and are a beautiful thick gold brocade. They have really wide hems and are constructed beautifully. The shoes are also vintage but they are not from the 60’s. They were my mom’s from the 80’s.

dsc_0025

My leg went Pop!

dsc_0039

Bye Bye, I hope that you found this interesting like you would find a flying llama licking a wheel of brie cheese strange. Happy holidays or if you do not celebrate any, Happy Winter!

On thanksgiving my family and I went in to New York to see the Macy’s thanksgiving day parade. It was a fun time, and the balloons were really awesome as always. I decided to dress in the fall spirit with a great outfit.  Here is a recap of some things that happened.

dsc_0048

Here are some of the balloons I really liked.

dsc_0158dsc_0107dsc_0176

And then there was Santa. He looks so happy that I really hope he is as happy as all of the people recieving presents from him.

dsc_0230

Here I am wearing a great jacket that I found at an estate sale. It is really beautiful. The jacket is made out of what once was a kimono, and has been converted to a form that resembles the cut of a letterman’s jacket. I’m also wearing a cream long sleeve sweater and a brown very small herringbone patterned skirt. I got this at a resale store because it intrgued me. Instead of having a kick pleat in the back it is in the front. I just think that it is really interesting.dsc_0185

Goodbye all. I hope that you had a fun thanksgiving.

So a couple weeks ago I went to New York Fashion week. These are photos from my experience there.

dsc_0480

Welcome to Mercedes Benz Fashion week. It was amazing. First off is my outfit that I wore that wonderful late summer day when I went to fashion week in all of its glory, Glory, GLORY! (Imagine that in a loud booming song voice) My apologies I was just thinking of the vast amounts of glory and awesomness of fashion week and that little song snippet popped into my head. But back on track now here is what I wore.

dsc_0469dsc_0086

Here I am wearing a vintage dress from the 70’s or 60’s as a shirt, a vintage belt, a Tahari jacket, forever 21 skirt and socks and prada bag. Please ignore the awkward look on my face. Next, in case you have never been to New York fashion week, in Lincoln center there are a huge amount of photographers taking street style photos, blogs and other websites and magazines taking pictures and asking questions. So while I was hanging out in Lincoln Center before the shows I had many people asking to take my picture or just taking it and asking me questions, one really nice person even interviewed me on video. So here are pictures of people taking pictures, of people taking pictures of people taking… Sorry that’s another song. Its really funny if you want to look it up.

dsc_0138

dsc_0142

Taking a break by the fountain. And now here are some of the interesting and awestrucking spectacles that we observed. Look at me talking all fancy.

dsc_0103dsc_0098

Believe it or not the person with orange hair is a man.

dsc_0055dsc_0035

These two men were swarmed with people because of how awesome and identicle they were dressed. This woman was also swarmed because her simplistic look in all black really stood out, and the individual pieces were really cool. Also she was wearing louboutins.

dsc_0044dsc_0048dsc_0411

These were all really cool and interesting as well.

Then we (my father and I) went to a beauty thingamabob that was giving free makeovers and giving away a ton of free stuff.

dsc_0148

Then we (my father & I ) dsc_0151

And we finally went into the building where the shows are actually held.

dsc_0169

Here is what it looks like inside. Lines for the shows and along the walls there are a bunch of set ups for the different sponsors of fashion week.

dsc_0165

Of course, there was a space for Mercedes Benz.

dsc_0178

dsc_0430

And Maybelline New York. But this picture turned out awesome. Look at the look on her face as she looks off into the distance of looking. But really, Just look at it, it is very amusing.

The dresses that the women at Maybelline got to wear were really cute. You could choose a free sample lipstick, eye shadow or nail polish from the machine behind her.

And now to the show that I got to see. It was the Erickson Beamon show.  It was really interesting beacause there was a wierd setup in the center of the room and going all along it was the female models being pushed around on carts by male models. It was quite fascinating. Then on the setup in the center of the room there were all of the editors sitting, all wearing black and white, with silver and gold jewels. If you think about it, the whole thing is very thought provoking. Now to the wonderful fashions.

dsc_0229 dsc_0243
dsc_0264

This was one of my favorites, clothing and jewelry wise

dsc_0267

This look was beautiful as well.

dsc_0385dsc_0269

Just some details. There were beautiful beads and really cool shoes, despite the fact that the shoes were by another designer. These shoes are so epic, like a slithering black snake twisting up your legs.

dsc_0402dsc_0406dsc_0393dsc_0390

I loved these three as well. they’re so simple, but the cut and lines are just beautiful.

dsc_0306

Her dress got caught, I just find it kind of amusing.

dsc_0330dsc_0335dsc_0348dsc_0356dsc_0361dsc_0372

dsc_0383

And This, is one of my favorite pictures ever (and my dad’s).

dsc_0387

dsc_0396

This was the source of the uber cool extra terrestrial music.

dsc_0279

Here are the editors and other such people that I do not know their title. (All I know is that I see a pair of Louboutins)

That is all from the show and the day. I leave you with a shot of all my goodies from the day. What wonders await inside?

This is a post  just featuring some photography that one of my best friends Kelly took. She wanted to do a photo shoot so we did. These are my favorites from all of the ones she took.

Voila my face, with an actually pretty normal smile.

I also swiped my hair out of my face and Kelly so nicely caught it. Look how wierd my eye looks, its just like I am about to cry because my best friend died while in the corner of my eye suddenly see a dancing llama eating super cheesy Brie. I know someone out there will get it.

This one is my favorite. It is just that perfect sideways glance.

And lastly I’m reading a random page in a book that I don’t even know the title of.

As you can probably tell this is going to be a post about going back to school and the preparation for it and the fall season. I now invite you to join me in viewing the clothes that I procured from my trips to a few resale stores for school clothing, even though I bought some items that are not for school. First, I will show you some of the clothing items and how they could fit some of the fall trends, something I will address in many future posts, and then I will incorporate the clothing items into outfits that may or may not, (I am hoping that they may), give you inspiration for some outfits yourself. But before I get into that I would like to apologize for my recent absence from my blog. I went on many vacations for three weeks straight causing posting to be virtually impossible. There will be posts soon about those trips as well, at least for the trips to Mexico and Niagara falls. But alas, I will now go back to the matter at hand of showing off my fabulous finds. Some of which may amaze you… or perhaps not depending on how much fabulousness there must be for you to be amazed. Since you may unfortunately be like a police officer that just pulled you over for speeding that is unamused and unamazed no matter what feats of awesomeness you perform. I hope that left an amusing image in your head, but now back to clothes (which will always amuse and amaze me.

Here are all of the clothing items I bought that are used in the upcoming outfits.

First are these three lovely items. This plum blouse is made with tafetta and the half sleeves are really cool, but also literally it will keep you cooler. It also has hidden buttons. Next is the tweed skirt. I believe that it is really interesting because the kick pleat is in the front instead of the back. Last for this first set is the velvet, button up vest. Since velvet is a trend this season I thought that it was perfect and it is originally from Saks Fifth Avenue, so I think that that is really awesome possum since it was really cheap where I bought it.

Now for the next two. I love this camel, cashmere, oversized jacket that is originally from Lord & Taylor. Also oversized pieces are another trend. Next is this olive green, velvet top. It is so comfy! And like I said earlier velvet is a trend.

Next up is this plaid and pleated skirt. I just thought it was really adorable and it was cheap so I could not pass it up. And last, the most amazing resale finds ever,  is a beautiful, patterned, velvet bolero jacket. In my opinion it is just really pretty.

Last, but most certainly not least, is this dress and jacket set. It is from the sixties, which is pretty obvious, but it is custom made from Hong Kong. In case you don’t already know Hong Kong back then was under British rule and some of the best british tailors started working there. They ended up receiving a great reputation and many people that traveled there would have affordable custom garments created. The oufit has a slightly baroque pattern which is yet another trend for this upcoming season. But just look at what the tag says.

In case you cannot read it, it says MADE IN THE BRITISH CROWN COLONY OF HONG KONG.

Now to the outfits.

This is the first step to this outfit. It has quite a few layers. I started with the plum blouse, tweed skirt and a resale store tie from a different trip. The final stage of this look is inspired by the Ralph Lauren Fall 2012 runway show.

Now add a suit jacket or separates jacket. It is even better if it is oversized like mine, because oversized items are a trend this up coming season.

The final step is to add long socks, cool shoes and a hat or cap. And Voila! you have a Ralph Lauren inspired look. I hope that this helps you get your look.

But now a close-up because I think it looks cool.

Here is the next look that incorporates my resale store items into outfits. Here I used the plaid skirt, velvet top and velvet bolero. I know this outfit seems very Christmasy, if that is even a word. I also wore my mom’s old shoes from the late 80’s. Guess what… even the shoes are velvet. :) But now some random jacket swinging.

Here I wore the dress and jacket combo from the sixties. With it I wore another pair of  my mom’s old shoes from the 80’s. They are Kenneth Cole.

And then there was a dance party! But I do that very awkwardly so it didn’t go so well.

A shot of just the dress. Isn’t it lovely?

And now I turn and walk away into the sunset… Oh wait, its a wall. Oh well, I will walk into the wall. I hope that you enjoyed this post. Good bye.

The second brand of the week that I have chosen is Miu Miu. Miu Miu is a brand that came off of Prada. It is name comes from Miuccia Prada’s nickname. The brand was started in 1993 and is headed by Miuccia. The current spokesperson for the brand is Hailee Steinfeld. And now here are my favorite looks from fashion shows and some other goodies.

These three looks are from the spring/summer 2012 collection. This first look (along with all of the others) I find adorable. These are the kinds of clothes that cause people tto believe you are as adorable as a baby bunny, until you bite them. Then they don’t find you as adorable even though bunnies sometimes nibble. Trust me I know from experience. Anyways this topand skirt or dress or I have no idea what is adorable. The gathered part in the front reminds me a lot of the dresses I would wear when I was really little, So I guess I was on trend years before everyone else, oh yeah staying ahead of the game like a boss. This next look I’ve shown you before but it is my favorite look of the show, and one of my favorites of all the shows in this season. I just love everything about it. And the last one I again love, but I guess that’s obvious because I said that these were my favorites. The lace jacket is so cool. Also like the previous look the print and texture mixing is great.

And this is the fall / winter 2012 / 2013 show. I once again loved this show, but it had a striking resemblance to the prada show. But I suppose that it is understandable since they are designed by the same person. I suppose one of the reasons that I love this show so much is because I love the miu miu brand soooooo much. Now to the first look. Like almost all of the show this look is an excellent example of how to mix prints. What can I say but the fact that I love it. From the tie to the over the arm part of the jacket, (I don’t know what to call it), it is pure perfection. This next one I really love the pattern on and the belt and just everything. And lastly my final favorite shows a darker side. Again the print is phenominal and I like how the print is the same. Now here are some backstage views.

I love every single one of these jackets. This top of a look is another one that I love because all of the different prints. I just didn’t want to bore you with two many outfits.

I especially love these shoes. And lastly these are some drawings that were backstage of the outfits that i really like. Now a goodbye from Miuccia Prada.

For when it is hot like a dinosaur shaped cake baking in an oven, this is the kind of thing you should wear. Because when you are baking like a dinosaur cake you cannot wear that many clothes because you could die, like the dinosaurs.

This is another one that’s all whited out but again I thought it was cool. Plus it is a pretty good picture. It is kind of like a group of polar bears on ice dancing like humans. They’re getting down and having a good time. But regardless they are polar bears and they are on ice so it is a very whited out picture.

Dress and Skirt and clutch: Tjmaxx, belt: vintage (it used to be my moms), Shoes: I don’t remember, Vest: it used to be my sisters so I have no idea.

Here is one that is not whited out so you can actually see what I’m wearing. I layered a skirt over the dress because I wanted the top of the dress with the skirt, and since the skirt is sheer I wasn’t that hot.

Skirt: Daffy’s I think from a long time ago, Shirt: TjMaxx, Shirt:H&M, Shoes: vintage, Purse: resale store.

Or here. You may be saying to yourself, I recognize that skirt and purse! The truth is you do! They are the same skirt and purse from my banner at the top of the page. I love this outfit. This is my favorite skirt for spring and summer. And the floralness of it is a trend this season. The only thing that would make this outfit better would be more layers, except it was so hot that I would die.

Notice I am holding Rarity. If you don’t know who she is, she is a pony, but not just any old pony, she is THE pony, but not just THE pony, THE mlp, which is My little pony. That was alot of commas, so it probably is not grammatically correct, oh well. Don’t judge. I love mlp. And I had to kiss her so much because I love her. She will be coming up again soon, so you will soon find out why.

If you look closely you can see that she now has lipstck on, except it is in the wrong place.

And here is the arm parties, one more so than the other. I’m just going to name what I know.

Watch: swatch, bracelet: vintage from flea market, bracelet: homemade, Bracelet: from friend, Bracelet:from Aunt, Bracelet: from sister.

And now if that was not helpful enough here are my favorite looks from the spring summer 2012 runway shows.

From left: Anna sui, Carven and Chanel.

I love everything about this Anna Sui outfit. It is just perfect in every way from the hat to the clothes it is totally my style. But my favorite part is the tights. If you look closely you can see that they have a bunch of butterflies on them. I also love the socks with shoes. Layering on the ankles is just amazing. Next is the carven dress. I fell in love with it the moment I first saw it. The cut out is just adorable and the pattern is great. And then the chanel dress I also fell in love with immediately. Like a dog that just got a new squeaky toy and can’t stop playing with it I cannot stop adoring this dress. It’s a different take on the shirt dress which is another one of my favorite things. And you can really tell that it was inspired by the sea because it looks like beautiful fish scales, my dad would enjoy that (he loves fish).

From left: Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio de la Morena and House of Holland.

This Dolce and Gabbana dress is another one that I fell in love with immediately. It has a beautiful, classic silhouette that is updated with the sheerness. It is opaque in all the right places to make it wearable. The Emilio de la Morena dress is awesome possum. The many cuts in it create great lines. And the bursts of yellow I love, partially because it is my favorite color and also because it is reminicent of my shoes. Plus I love the collar. The next look by House of Holland is adorable. The hot pants that show the leg say come here pookie (they are actually talking to a poodle not a person), while the top says oh no not now pookie (pookie the poodle currently wants to go for a walk but the model’s legs are all worn out from saying come hither). I really like the pastels of this look too (a trend this season).

From left: Jeremy Scott and Lacoste.

This Jeremy Scott outfit is adorable and perfect for a cool summer outfit. My favorite part though has to be the shoes. I mean look at them they’re so lovely! Last is this lacost dre… I don’t even know what to call it. But I do know that it is awesome and I want it. It’s just so cool. A totally new take on Lacoste style.

That’s it for now!  BYEBYE!
